Archive

HAFF, from its very first edition unconventional and groundbreaking, celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2010. The festival seized this opportunity to publish its rich archive online. A party of recognition for people who have been around for some time. People who are pretty new on the scene get an overview of 25 years of world-class animation.

The online archive has been made possible by the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds.

Posters & leaders
The HAFF posters were designed by famous artists like Mariscal, Art Spiegelman, Chris Ware, Charles Burns and Joost Swarte. The HAFF logo by the latter – a walking camera with Mickey Mouse ears, executed in clear lines – is the connecting element. 25 Years of festival history in 14 posters.

Juries
Over the years, highly proficient and committed juries have watched the contenders in all competitions and after careful consideration granted the coveted awards.
Programme 2011
HAFF skipped its autumn edition this year but curated some of the animation programmes at the Netherlands Film Festival.
The archive online is a work in progress. We’re still busy to publish the early editions and collect images from the films. If your film has ever been screened at HAFF and there are no images in this archive, please send some to publications@haff.nl.
